Etihad A330-200F delivers 59 tonnes of Humanitarian Aid for Flood relief

Etihad Crystal Cargo’s inaugural flight, the new A330-200 freighter, carrying 59 tonnes of humanitarian aid arrived on Saturday, 28 August at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.It was a special charter flight carrying medical and humanitarian supplies, especially for the flood victims in Pakistan, following heavy monsoon rains which hit the country in late July causing severe flooding throughout the provinces.

Additionally, to assist in the relief efforts Etihad Airways carried approx 58.5 tonnes of general cargo to Islamabad on Aug 29th – from Norwegian Church Aid, Norway.

Amer Khan, Etihad Airways’ Country Manager Pakistan, said: “The UAE and Pakistan have a very close bond and Etihad, the UAE’s national airline, is proud to play a part as Pakistan continues to recover from the devastating flooding.”

Shahe Ouzounian, Chapman Freeborn’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are very pleased to be the first charter company and customer to utilise Etihad’s new A330-200F.

“Etihad and Chapman-Freeborn worked together with the client to ensure the aid supplies were delivered successfully to Pakistan, on time to the flood affected people.”
