Samsung is to appeal against the court order blocking the sale of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet device in Europe with the hearing due to be held in Germany on the 25th August.

Last week, Apple secured an order banning the sale of the Android based tablet throughout Europe – except the Netherlands – after it claimed the device is too similar in design to its own iPad tablet.

The company is currently seeking a similar ban in the Netherlands and has secured a voluntary suspension of sales in Australia pending a formal lawsuit hearing.
