The Chief Executive Officer of Buksh Foundation and Director Buksh Energy Pvt. Ltd. – Ms. Fiza Farhan has been nominated as the “Future Energy Leader” at the World Energy Council, in recognition of her efforts for the growth of Renewable-Energy sector in Pakistan.
Ms. Fiza is a passionate and devoted entrepreneur, who has successfully played a leading role as a specialist in the Renewable Energy sector. She is actively promoting and advocating the development of sustainable energy resources and initiatives.
Ms. Farhan appreciated her nomination by saying; “I am excited to be a part of the “Future Energy Leader” (FEL) Programme, which is designed to build on ideas and innovative potential of young leaders in the global energy sector. I look forward to make valuable contributions towards WEC’s sustainable energy solutions for tomorrow, while sharing my knowledge and expanding my experience on a global scale.
The World Energy Council (WEC) is the largest global network of energy leaders and practitioners dedicated to delivering a sustainable energy system for the greatest benefit of all. Formed in 1923, WEC is a UN-accredited global energy body, representing the entire energy spectrum, with more than 3000 member organizations, located in over 90 countries and drawn from governments, private and state corporations, academia, NGOs and stakeholders of the energy-related sectors.
Ms. Farhan remains an active member of the UN Foundation’s “Sustainable Energy for All” (SE4ALL) Network; she is also an active participant on other international energy networks such as Asian Development Bank’s “Energy for ALL”, The Energia Network and SEAS. Due to Ms. Fiza’s efforts and contributions Buksh Foundation was also the winner of “Best Practice in Energy” Award – 2011, by UN-Habitat.
Buksh Foundation and Buksh Energy have maintained strong engagements with the local & international energy forums, organized by various associations and networks and both these organizations are striving to bring international and national partners and stakeholders to the table for improving the energy situation of the Country through use of renewable energy.
